GENTLE-JANE® Snap-Freezer
Fast biological samples freezing |
| GENTLE-JANE® SnapFreezer is a patented
technique for the fast freezing of biological samples,
biopsies or suspensions. This unique technique brings
a definitive solution for long term stability of your
frozen samples for guaranteed results in morphology, histology
and molecular biology. |

| Principle
of GENTLE-JANE® SnapFreezing technique |
|

|
A heat extractor composed of a massive piece
of stainless steel is cooled down par dipping into liquid
nitrogen ( -196°C) and placed on the sample to be
frozen. The heat extractor absorbs the heat of the sample
and transfers its ultra-low temperature. Un mechanism
ensures a progressive contact with the sample. Freezing
is complete within 8 to 10 seconds. |
|
| Freezing operations sequence |
 |
1
In an isolated box are placed : the freezing mechanism,
the liquid nitrogen reservoir, and the heat extractor.
The heat extractor is placed into the liquid nitrogen
to cool down. |
| |
|
 |
2
Freezing embedding medium CryoGel®
is dispensed onto the freezing block to form a base layer. |
| |
|
 |
3 Sample is
placed on top of CryoGel®which
viscosity facilitates sample orientation.
|
| |
|
 |
4 The heat
extractor is positionned onto the mechanism that controls
its descent down to the sample. When sample is frozen,
remove the heat extractor and take the sample out to
the deep freezer.

GENTLE-JANE® eliminates
molecular and structural degradations while freezing
A too low freezing procedure generates cristals that
degrade your tissues, break cell walls, your staining
are less contrasted, less intense and heterogeneous.
GENTLE JANE® freezes rapidly while limiting cristals
formation for a preserved morphology and a reliable
diagnosis.
GENTLE JANE® preserves the molecular components
of your tissue section.
Using CryoJane® sectionning kit eliminates the
melting of your section when cutting it in your cryostat
for a controlled chain of cold. RNA and proteins are
better preserved.
GENTLE-JANE® improves
long term storage stability of frozen samples
Classical practices of freezing are frequently unadequate,
generating significant degradations of the samples which
badly prepare your samples for long term storage. The
degradations will continue during storage and will have
detrimental consequences when staining your sample in
histology or applying molecular biology.
GENTLE-JANE® guarantees long term stability of
your samples.
|
GENTLE-JANE®
freezes rapidly while on a controlled ramping
Freezing samples by dipping into liquid nitrogen generates
a too violent chock to the sample and from time to time
large breaks occur.
GENTLE-JANE® eliminates such risk by using the heat
extractor as an interface.
GENTLE-JANE® provides
a standardized freezing procedure
The heat extractor is put in contact with the sample under
controlled conditions. Freezing conditions are standardized
for consistent quality. |
| GENTLE-JANE®
produces perfectly flat frozen blocks, easier to cut |
 |
GENTLE-JANE® produces flat blocks reducing
sample losses when facing and making it easier to cut. |
| |
| GENTLE-JANE®
is quick and easy to use, adapted for routine use |
 |
GENTLE-JANE® is a box easy to carry
into surgery room for a short delay between sampling and
freezing. Insulation ensures a low tempperature for approx.
2 hours. |
